Web Notary
Here’s a useful new idea for small businesses and startup software companies among others: a free online notary. It appears technically sound, so much so that I’m surprised no one has ever thought of it before. And the service is free (free is good), but it doesn’t seem like it would be hard to structure it to charge fees, at a highly competitive price point to be sure. But perhaps it needs to be free until it’s tested in court – which might be tricky – the web site explains about the service that “It is not an official, legally-recognized notary”. Not yet; but if someone took their evidence to court, it might become one. So… who wants to be first?
