As a Communications and Electronics Engineering Officer in the Canadian Forces, I was an IT manager and project manager (and wearer of many other hats as well).
As a consultant in the professional services practice of an Ottawa software company I met and worked with the top people involved with structured content (i.e. SGML and XML) and the development of systems to manage it.
In my California dot com sojourn I got formal about project management. A couple of years later, in the IT department of one of Canada’s largest wealth management firms, I moved into IT and project governance by launching a PMO.
Now an IT Manager living in New York, I nailed it all down with a Master of Science degree in Technology Management from Columbia.
So yes, I think this stuff is pretty interesting.
