Forrester’s Manish Bahl has some advice for Indian companies dealing with the rupee’s decline. His suggestions are worth heeding regardless of the country or point on the economic cycle you find yourself in.
Readers of dot Leader are familiar with my views on the importance of IT strategy’s alignment with and feedback to the organization’s strategy. The business outcomes matrix Bahl describes is how you demonstrate that IT is doing this. Expanding IT’s focus to take in customer engagement and intimacy is another way of getting beyond the IT-as-cost-center, just there provide infrastructure, mentality. And innovation may be part of IT’s ethos, but for long term success it needs to be part of the business’s too.
